While walking around Tesco the other day, a lady was taste testing persimmon, a orange like fruit which has many ways to eat and is great for many things.
Now they are £1.00 (offer was BOGOF) - they really are yummy.
I have been eating them with the skin, as it is nice, but some people remove the skin, cut into apple sized segments. The flesh is sweet and almost apple like.
You can eat it raw, cooked or dried.
It is known to help constipation, Haemorroids, (too much raw can cause loose stools) but cook it to help
Low in calories and fat, great source of fibre. Contains anti oxidents, vitamins A/C amongst other things.
My 2 love them, no pips and are soft like a melon - eat them when they are hard for a apple like texture or when they are softer to taste like melon!!
Worth a try....
