Battles on the School Run?

#1 Unread post by weezypops » Wed Mar 12, 2014 11:45 am

Just watching This Morning and they are talking about the school run being competitive - people trying to outdo each other with what they wear, their cars etc. and that many parents end up arguing with other parents over issues between their children, or fighting with them for parking spaces! I don't know if I'm just oblivious but I don't find this at all at the kids' school, in fact I quite enjoy seeing friends, having a chat etc.

What about you? What is your school run like?

Getting the boys out the door is the stressful part
However I enjoy a good chat before school and on the walking bus so yeah i'm the same. Don't find any issues. Not yet anyway :sx

I don't have any issues apart from being soooooo bored of doing the school run and I have years and years of still doing it!

At Prince Avenue it was a nightmare and i dreaded the school run, Parents felt it was ok to charge up to another parent and start shouting and swearing at them, there were fights in and out the school, police were called numerous times. Teachers were shouted at or threatened. Parents sat in groups talking about other parents, judging etc. I hated it. I try not to talk to other parents much at Porters and don't want to make friends as such, its easier and less hassle.

Apart from Tiannah's issues!! I only talk to a select few of Mums, don't really know too many yet! I have learnt from when Tilly was at Primary back in Surrey, they were awful, quite young and used to talk and back stab about the others all the time, even to proper physical violence in front of there own kids too. Some even if you looked at them would hurl abuse! So I am polite and smile but do generally stick to a smaller crowd!

There is one group of mums who look like the mean mums but they tend to stick together!
