2013 Book Challenge
Anyone up for it this year? I'm not expecting to get through much so am setting myself a target of 20 books. I've been on a bit of a Nick Hornby thing at the moment and so far this year have read:
Nick Hornby: Long Way Down
Nick Hornby: How to be Good

Nick Hornby: How to be Good
Re: 2013 Book Challenge
I'm always up for this... Given that I have a busy year ahead, I'll set myself a 20 book challenge too!
Books read in 2013:
- Under Fishbone Clouds : Sam Meekings
- The Perks of Being a Wallflower : Stephen Chbosky
- I Heart London : Lindsey Kelk
- Alone : Robert J Crane
- The Betrayal of Natalie Hargrove : Lauren Kate
I am now reading - The Night Circus : Erin Morgenstern

Re: 2013 Book Challenge
Hi there
I see you are doing the book challenge...and that Nick Hornby is among your favourites. I think you would enjoy my new book,
The Class Ceiling, which has just come out on Amazon Kindle, the story of a cleaner who receives an unexpected inheritance and finds herself plunged into a world where no woman can contemplate a week without Pilates and pedicures and no child can survive without organic apricots and Kumon maths. It's an irreverent and often naughty take on school gate snobbery with a bit of romance thrown in. You can read some sample pages here:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Class-Ceili ... B00ANUAN72
Hope you enjoy! Or check out my take on life at my blog: http://kerryfisherauthor.blogspot.co.uk
Good luck with the reading challenge!

Forgot to update - finished The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared - Jonas Jonasson (which was really good!) and have now nearly finished The Woman who Went to Bed for a Year - Sue Townsend which I'm enjoying.
Re: 2013 Book Challenge
I want to read both of those Louise... Will have to get them on my Kindle!

Re: 2013 Book Challenge
Finished The Woman who Went to Bed for a Year which was good though I found the ending a bit disappointing. Have since read Wonder by R.J. Palacio which I discovered after reading is actually aimed at a YA audience but I thought was excellent. It was quite simple but really well written so I would recommend it to all ages. I'm now reading Little Face by Sophie Hannah
Re: 2013 Book Challenge
IKWYM about the ending. Disappointing.

Re: 2013 Book Challenge
Yeah, it was really good until then - I felt the characters were strong, the story really different, then it just kind of petered out like she didn't know what to do with the main character and I thought the ending was totally out of character etc. Seeing as how it would end was kind of crucial it was a bit rubbish
Re: 2013 Book Challenge
Have updated my list as forgot to! haha
Now reading 'The Betrayal of Natalie Hargrave' by Lauren Kate... It's a bit of trash reading, but perfect for my baby brain at the moment lol
