Pregnancy Tests

#1 Unread post by nubs » Mon Jun 23, 2008 3:02 pm

Can I ask you all what pregnancy test you used?

When I concieve Jack it took nearly 3 months to get a positive test, We have been trying the last 6 weeks to concieve and my period has not arrived, I have done 3 tests all negative - 2 I brought of the internet and 1 tesco's own.

Also I have been feeling nausea's and bloated but is it just my mind/body going into overdrive hoping to be pregnant

I fell for Jack the first month of trying

I used Boots own brand of pregnancy test (as I REFUSED to pay £12 for one pregnancy test) it came up positive straight away, actually - the line started appearing before I had finished peeing on it!!! (yuk - too much info!)

Could you go to the docs and ask for a blood test?

I used Asda's own, £5 for two.

I often found that if you wee in a pot and dunk the stick it came up alot better results as the urine has more time to go on to the stick.

I used clear blue with mitch, the one that comes up in proper writting to your 'pregnant' or 'not pregnant' I was actually 8 weeks late back in july last year, i kept doing loads of tests as i was always regular, except for the time i fell for mitch. i was getting really worried but i wasn't pregnant in the end, i really started believing i was though and that the tests were just wrong!!! Luckly i wasn't though with the wedding coming up. Would've been nice if i was though as it wouldhave been due on the 1st anniversary of my mums death.

I used clearblue too - I liked the fact that it was there in words so there was no confusion!

I know - I don't remember using clear blue last time round, I think I am going to phone the doctors to see if they will do a blood test better than spending lots of pennies x

You dont have a blood test done, you need to speak to the doctor and arrange for a urine test to be sent off to the hospital, straight forward procedure, just has to be a morning sample, at our surgery we usually get the results through in a couple of days as we are linked to the ICE system at Southend Hospital.
