Mums in the Playground
Do you get on with the other Mums in the Playground/at the school gate? Is there a group that seems like the popular 'clique' and are you in it, or is it more like a few small groups. Or maybe no-one speaks to each other? Do you wish you could fit in more or prefer to just go home rather than doing a stop and chat?
Re: Mums in the Playground
There is a real mix at Jack's school, I usually walk and talk with Jack's best mate at schools nan, and then chat outside Jack's class room with the other mums - it's nice for Sam as he will be starting nursery with the brothers and sisters
I wouldn't say there is a clique either - there's some that think they are important but are not nasty or anything if we was to say hello or chat

We are all friendly with each other but only to say Hello and talk about our children. But it took a good 4 or 5 months of nursery runs for us all to get that way.
Re: Mums in the Playground
Over the years I have met a range of people. When josh started school I joined in with chat and group situations but it's not really that important to me. I talk to his freinds parents because we chat abut about them meeting up abd the same with alexas freinds parents.
I do occasionally join in or walk with someone but it's not that important to me so isn't a big deal if I stand in silence.
There are occasions where you chat to complete randoms in the playground too.

Re: Mums in the Playground
I've found most of the mums at Chalkwell Hall seem really nice. There's definitely a group who seemed to know each other beforehand and at first I thought they were a bit cliquey but they're all friendly enough individually. There are a couple of Mums who I chat too more - one who I often walk home with and one who I sit with when we're waiting for the kids to come out, but most I've chatted to have been really friendly. I think we're all just getting to the point where the kids are making friends and we're realising 'oh, you're such and such's mum, I think they're friends'! but it's hard when they don't give much away!

its a bit like that when you first start Louise, we all sort of formed groups of who our kids were friends with to start with but we have a lovely class really and everyone chats to everyone and now knows who everyone is as its our 2nd year together.
There are ppl who walk together and already knew each other but everyone is happy to chat and no one is really cliquey or stuck up either. Think we are very lucky with our class.

Ahh I think you def get a mixture in the playgrounds dont you and at the gates.
I like to chat to most people at the school and I dont feel uncomfortable for eg if I didnt to talk to them. They are all lovely and friendly which is always good.
Of course there are people that no eachother more and for longer as their children have been to the nursery together at Blenheim and going up through the years together. Jacks school mixed the classes this year so in a way too its nice as Ive got to no more people and different people too.
I do like to say hi to the mums and dads on school runs.
Jack does make me laugh.. we are walking in to school and theres always a lovely lil girl and says Hi Jack... He just shrugs those shoulders.. I say to him say Hi.. He replys. Its fine ill talk to them in school.... Gawdddd!!!
Ha ha toooo cooollll for school these kiddies eh! ha ha! x So as you can imagine lots of convos we have are always about the kids anyway.
Its nice to socialise too with other mums outside of school, I often have a cuppa at the childrens centre with them and go to party plan partys with them. x
