Back to School - what's happening this year?

#1 Unread post by weezypops » Wed Aug 29, 2012 2:33 pm

Thought it might be nice to have a little thread about what our kids will be doing this year as we're nearly at back to school time!

Felix will be going into year one at Chalkwell, though he's in a mixed class with year two kids too. He will be in Class India and he has a new teacher at the school called Mr Webb who he seems to really like but i think is a bit odd! I'm sure I'll get used to him, I just liked his old teachers so much! Seems crazy he's in year one already - where has the last year gone?

Iris will be doing more hours at Little Treasures and is now one of the big girls! Though really she's thought of herself that way for a while now!

William is also going into year one. He is in Duck class with Mrs Tracy who is the grand-daughter in law of the Mrs Tracy that I had when I was at the same school! (She is now a leader at James' Tuesday toddler group). He is mega excited. Their first topic of the year is 'the great outdoors' (or something like that) sounds like a lot of fun and then his next project is castles (or something) which he is mega excited about as he loves a castle at the moment! He can't wait!

Ahh this is lovely :)

Jack will be going into Year 2. Cant believe it actually.
His teacher is Miss Garwood and she's very good. The class will be known as Giraffes x
Jack already knows her as he had her last year for his year 2 split Maths Class. I think he's very excited about year 2 as they will now be the older ones in the playground ahh.

We have all his uniform ready and extras.
He does have a bag this year which is his request of some of his previous Year 2 friends did last year as he no longer wants a book bag

Cant believe where the 6 weeks hols have gone tho wow! x

Aiden will be doing 2 mornings & 2 afternoons at Fairview under 5's- he is loving it there & finally getting settled as he joined there in April. He really enjoys taking his packed lunch in with him for the afternoons sessions.
Emily will be at home with me full time i am hoping to get out & meet a few more people & mayb go to a few toddler groups etc whilst Aiden is at pre-school- we shall see!

Hi, Millie is now in year 1 at Leigh infant school, in Pink Class, which the girls love but the boys hate! Her teacher is Miss Uzzell. She is going to be on the school council this term as well, bless her.

Mia is in year 2 and her teacher is Ms Heley and is Class India (just like Felix lol). She was so excited about being back at school. Not sure what they are going to be learning about, Mia realises that there wont be so much 'play' time now that she is in year 2 and there will be much more learning but she seems to be taking it in her stride.
Mum to Mia & Mason, wife to Steve - life is for living.

Josh is in yr 5 Frobisher class and Alexa is yr 1 seahorses.
Josh is continuing with the guitar and enjoying singing and is starting cross country training.
Alexa is doing after school computer club and is the class anti bullying ambassador.

Hoping for another happy year. Can't believe next year will be Josh's last in this school and Alexas last in port!!
