Stranger Danger: To Scare or Not?

#1 Unread post by weezypops » Thu Oct 10, 2013 5:37 pm

What do you tell your children about 'stranger danger'? Do you try to scare them so that they don't take any risks or would you rather not tell them anything and keep them believing the world is a happy safe place?

Do you think we overstate the dangers that are out there or not go far enough?

I think it depends on the age of the child.
As you no Jack is 7 and a mature one so we were just honest with him.
It must be hard to have a 4/5 year old, I wouldn't no how to explain something like this to them.
Our school website has lots of tips and points to make things easier too about stranger danger x

I did explain to Mia and she knows not to go off with anyone, even said if she knows them she is to ask us first.

I explained not everyone in this world is a nice person and we just want to keep her safe.
Mum to Mia & Mason, wife to Steve - life is for living.
