Losing weight / Healthy living 2015

#1 Unread post by weezypops » Sun Jan 04, 2015 1:35 pm

Right, this will be the year of losing half my body weight!

Aiming for a gradual loss - a pound or two a week, through lots of walking and a few extra exercise sessions a week, thinking of joining the fitbugs beginners running group if it fits with Kester getting home from work, combined with less booze in the week, smaller portions etc. Using the fitbit and tracking calorie intake. Nothing drastic, no diets, just an overhaul!

Starting tomorrow when Kester is back to work.

Anyone else? Would be nice to motivate each other, make suggestions etc.

:Achiever: Blue - half a stone!
:Achiever: Green - 1 stone
:Achiever: Purple - 2 stone
:Achiever: Red - 3 stone

Jenny
Kris - 10lbs
Louise - 10lbs
Michelle - 15lbs

Yes I want to join in but can't until we get to the bottom of why I am so ill all the time and feel so rubbish and shattered all the time.

I am going to a wedding August 2016 and I would love to wear a dress that is in my cupboard and I absolutely loved. It means dropping 2 dress sizes. Have no idea what that is in weight tho. I wore it when William was about 15 months and I just remember how nice I felt and how much I liked it!

(Mind you - I also don't mind if I need to go and buy a new dress for the wedding!)

They weren't - but need to phone to get last lot of results but you can only phone between 3 and 6 and I forgot yesterday - typical I remembered at 2 and at 6:15 but obviously those were not the right times to phone :(

Have no idea what I weighed before Christmas. Hmmmm.....

Afternoon all. Weighed myself this morning and was 5lbs less than yesterday - I was wearning fewer clothes but still rather surprised. I think the scales must have been wrong yesterday to be honest!

Anyway, we were pretty good yesterday, reasonable portion sizes, no snacks or wine! Same so far today and have also done 5 miles or so walking and about half an hour on the wii fit.

I'm back on this!!

Started on 1st Jan and have lost 6lbs so far. I know I've lost inches especially round the waist cause my clothes are looser.
Following SW recipes. Not any plan or meetings though. It's been fairly easy so far. Some of the foods I thought I'd hate I actually enjoyed.
Had a beetroot and orange salad today which was really nice. Have made a tomato soup for tomorrow with some vine tomatos roasted in oven.
Just had turkey risotto and wasn't bowled over. Kids loved it though.

Aiming for a gradual loss - feeling healthier already though.

Exercise wise I'm walking lots at work and running up and down stairs instead of walking them.

1lbs off for me today, so 6lbs overall, though I do think there was a bit of leniency because of clothes/time of day etc. at the start! I'm still counting it though. Aiming for a pound a week loss, so doesn't sound too daunting, but that is easy to say in the early days! Kester is on board too so that helps.

Well done Michelle.

How is everyone doing? Another 2lbs off for me today. I was quite surprised as I met a friend for lunch yesterday and had pizza but we did then have a healthy dinner of salmon, new potatoes and veg, plus no snacks etc. I also walked back from Southend which helped I guess!

My total is 8lbs! I'm surprised at how well it's going as I'm only aiming for a pound a week and haven't found it hard, but I guess cutting out wine is helping a lot! I'm sure it won't continue at this rate either, it's just been a good start.

Oh, I was thinking it might also be helpful to discuss what we are trying to achieve here - are you going for a particular loss, or just a general overhaul?

I'm ashamed to say I would need to lose a lot to be in the healthy weight band - like 5 stone or something, even more to be in the middle of that range, but realistically I would like to drop a couple of dress sizes, which would probably equate to a couple of stone too. If I could lose 3 stone by the end of the year I think that would make a really big difference, and I think it's doable but hard work to keep on track.

Well done Louise.

I sneakily weighed myself today although it's not due till Saturday.
Had a chicken and mango salad for lunch and a pot of melon and grapes which my boss keeps buying for me lol.

My aim ideally would be 5 stone. I will never be skinny skinny but that would I feel be my ultimate goal and who knows if I ever get to it I might go further. Haha.

I've got cracked pepper ryvita for lunch tomorrow.
