Art workshops for children with Autism

#1 Unread post by weezypops » Tue Aug 10, 2010 11:30 am

DO YOU LIVE IN SOUTHEND AND HAVE AN AUTISTIC CHILD?
DOES YOUR CHILD LIKE ART – IN ITS BROADEST SENSE?

We are running arts workshops fr children with autism, once a month, at Blenheim Childrens’ Centre. During the summer holidays, we will also be running a weekly arts club at St Christopher’s School. The sessions will incorporate all sorts of different arts and crafts, which could include thumb pottery, salt dough, bag/t-shirt painting, ceramic painting, mosaic and many, many, more possibilities. There will be some capacity to welcome siblings resident at the same address to these sessions to take part in the activities on offer, if desired.

Sessions will be run by our own experienced arts officers, supported by specialist care assistants. All staff are fully CRB checked and insured.

The Saturday sessions run from 1330-1530 once a month, we have a limited number of places left. The weekly summer holiday club will be running on a Tuesday and we are now taking registrations.

Pre booking is ESSENTIAL, as nobody will be accepted without pre-registration. Sessions are small in number, so early booking is recommended.

For further information and/or to book a place for your child, please contact Caroline Carpenter, Project Manager by email caroline.carpenter@disabilityessex.org or by phone, 07919 153320.
FOCUSING ON CREATIVITY, NOT DISABILITY
