Check List that I need to take into hospital with me when ba

#1 Unread post by dolphincrazy1 » Thu Mar 26, 2009 5:04 pm

Hi there

I wonder if someone can help me please.

Do you know what's on the list (check list) that I need to take into hospital with me when baby is born for baby or where I can get it from please?
My midwife is ok ish but in about 4 appts I have only seen her twice I keep getting put to another stand in midwife.

I need to get things sorted I mean I am 28 weeks today & being my 1st baby I don't have a clue.

Thanks for all your help in advance on this matter.
Take care
Julie

This is what i took in...
For baby:
*nappies
*wipes or cotton wool, depends how you want to clean their bum
*blanket
*vest x 2
*babygro/clothes x 2
*socks x 2
*booties
*mittens
*cotton hat
*CAMERA
I think thats about all i took for baby. If you're not going to have any visitors then obviously take more of everything as you dont know how long you will be in for. But if you're going to have visitors then x2 of clothes with be enough as more can be brought in if you have to stay longer.

For mum:
*maternity pads
*clothes
*nightie/pyjamas
*hairbrush
*small bag of toiletries
*babywipes or facial wipes to freshen your face
*comfy knickers
*slippers/socks
*books/magazine
*breastpads
*towel

some change for snacks, the phone (as not allowed to use mobiles in the hospital)

if your not breast feeding, then you need to take in cartoned formula (not sure baout bottles and teats though).
if you are planning to breast feed then maternity bra, breast pads

Magazines to read

I know in Southend your no longer allowed to take car seats up when you collect the baby, and have to get car seat once they have escorted you downstairs.
