#1 Unread post by Schmushe » Thu Nov 12, 2009 1:53 pm

Was your baby born premature or sick?.. Or has your baby spent time in SCBU?..Are you threatened with pre-term labour?

Meet other parents/carers, share experiences, or just come along for a friendly chat & cuppa in a child friendly space!

We meet 1 - 2.30pm on the 1st Friday of each month...

Rainbow Childrens Centre, Constable Way, Shoeburyness, SS3 9XX
(01702)292109 or Email: rainbow_cc@btconnect.com

You can speak to Lisa on 07921 563593 and Lewis 07832 350332 or email us on: earlybirdspremgroup@hotmail.co.uk

We look forward to meeting lots of new people...

Do you know who sets these up Michelle? I used to go to one in Basildon and I know there is now one in Billericay, but nothing in Brentwood.

Usually its parents who set up local support groups, and then Bliss get behind them and hlpe as much as possible. I will be going along to help out and offer advice now I am trained and am able to go to others and have chats with parents etc...

Most groups run once a month - are you interested in setting one up? I could find the info out for you if you were

I would have been when Tom was young as I had to travel around to find them. I wouldn't be able to now as although it would be lovely for parents to see how well a prem child can get on in life, Tom could not be trusted in a room full of such tiny people! I keep pumping something similar at my local childrens centre management board meetings but nobody has taken it up yet.

Maybe you could pop along to another one locally to you (the Southend one for example) - it is so great for parents to speak to people who have been there and have come out the other side.
It doesnt have to be a regular thing....most groups are only once a month anyway.

we've been to our Billericay one recently, I just think it's a shame that there isn't one in brentwood. For mothers who are not proactive like me and go out and look for things like that it needs to be under some peoples noses!
