Just giving - BLISS

#1 Unread post by Schmushe » Thu Jul 14, 2011 3:09 pm

Hello,
I’m raising money for Bliss, for babies born too soon, too small, too sick using JustGiving and I'd really appreciate your support.
You can make a donation via my page: http://www.justgiving.com/Schmushe. It's easy, fast and totally secure.

Every penny, every pound, helps families who have to go through the SCBU or NICU journey, from providing telephone support, to fundraising for neonatal units and increasing neonatal staffing.

If you prefer to donate / fundraise for your local support group, please give me a shout and I will happily send over details. The scbu is currently compiling a 'wish list' and would be great to help them with a few items

I would rather donate locally! Always prefer local charities and wothwhile causes (well more often than not anyway - there are exceptions)

Most people prefer to donate locally cause they know that it benefits locals and the community.

Southend SCBU are doing a 'wish list' of all the things they need, so am hoping to tick a few off for them through donations and buying bits and pieces, so they can focus money they get for the bigger things like incubators and equipment.

To donate to the support groups in Southend just paypal the money to hakewill@yahoo.co.uk - this is our current account for money, we can only have a 'proper' account once our balance reaches £500!! Currently any money raised goes towards both support groups as its likely I will be running the other one soon. I also have to record all transactions and Bliss have access to that account too now so they see all transactions and where they are going.

Once the 'Wish list' is done, it will be a case of finding things that maybe people have they could donate (I know they need cot sheets but not sure if they need specific ones / sizes yet), and we can start buying up what needs to be done and asking companies if they are willing to donate things we cant afford (I think a tv might end up being on the list!!)

Gift aid applies to the Just giving account, we cant do one for Little acorns until the formal account has been set up, and again that cant be done until we've reached our quota! (Think its to prevent too many accounts being opened up with tiny amounts and then never being used, if you've raised £500 your pretty serios about what your doing)
But any money you donate via Just giving will go to Bliss so will still be going to a good cause.

Leanne is she doing it with Earlybirds or Wee ones? (Lisa and Lewis?) - I know they run a majority of the support groups in Brighton and they're doing a buggy push

NP - like I said all donations appreciated, either to the main chairty or to Southend SCBU support group xx
