Article writing
Hi everyone,
I'm hoping to start getting some more editorial on the site about pregnancy and parenting topics, and was wondering if anyone would be interested in writing some.
Ideally I'd like to have a week-by-week pregnancy guide, and a similar monthly thing with parenting, then individual articles on all sorts of things related to pregnancy and parenting. I will probably start by supplying a list but then it could branch out to other things as we get further in.
I can't really afford to pay people for every article, so was wondering if anyone would be interested in an incentive scheme. In the past I did some writing for a site called Wikiparenting, where we wrote articles like this, and the way it worked was we all went through the lists that were provided for us, and at the end of the month, the two people who had written the most articles got a gift voucher. I was thinking I could do something similar, maybe with a £50 voucher for the person who has written the most, and £25 for the second.
Would anyone be interested? You'd need to be able to write clearly, have good grammar and spelling and be able to research topics thoroughly and write in an unbiased manner.
Update: the articles we have so far are here: http://www.essexmums.org/pregnancyandparenting.html
Prizes given out are £50 for the highest number of articles, then £25 for the highest voted article and £10 for the second.

Re: Article writing
Hello there
I am interested in article writing.
I have not done this before, so am not sure whether I would be good enough? If I were to try writing one piece for you, then maybe you could say if you feel it is up to scratch or not?
Here is a bit of background on my family and me.
I am a mum of 2 boys. Logan is 4 (who is a very fussy eater and he is starting school in September) and Luca is 1 (into everything especially playing with all the hazardous electrical wires in the house!).
My husband is an electrician. He drives into London everyday and works long hours. But he is a great help with the boys and also loves being in the garden.
I own my own business, Happy Hobbits Face Painting & Glitter Tattoos. I have lots of experience working with children as I have also been a trainee dance teacher and a ski instructor in the past. So as you may guess, I love to ski (when the funds allow) and generally being with friends and family.
I look forward to hearing from you,
Lucy Mitchell

Re: Article writing
I think as long as you're prepared to give it a go and can write clearly I'm happy for you to try. It would be nice to get a team of 5-10 going, so anyone who is interested, I'll start a new section of the forum for us to discuss it in.

Yes, we currently have seven in the group and I think around ten would be ideal.
