Rather than recycling your old Xmas cards, give them to Havens!!

When the festivities are over, Havens Hospices - which incorporates Fair Havens Hospice and Little Havens Children’s Hospice - will be collecting old, unwanted and unused Christmas cards in its festive recycling scheme. Up to five pence can be earned per card and the total amount raised will be used to help provide respite breaks, symptom control and end-of-life care for adults and children with life-limiting illnesses.

Havens Hospices’ Director of Trading, Trevor Johnson, explained “We have entered into the scheme which enables us to raise money by recycling cards. It is a brilliant opportunity for the hospice to raise funds over the festive season, at no cost to our supporters so please start collecting them now.”

Cards can be taken to the all sixteen of the charity’s shops, the reception of Fair Havens or Little Havens and patients attending Fair Havens Day Care can bring theirs to the nurses in the New Year where they will be put in special recycling bins.

Trevor added, “Just think. If you and your family, or colleagues at work, received 100 cards between you that is £50 which could go towards ensuring we can continue caring for seriously ill children, adults and their families in 2012. So please, don’t put them in any old bin, bring them in to us and we’ll turn your Christmas cards into cash for Havens Hospices!”

Find out our shops' opening times during the festive season or call 01702 220350 to find out more about recycling your cards this Christmas.
