Vasectomies

#1 Unread post by weezypops » Thu Apr 11, 2013 11:15 am

Has anyone's husbands had the snip? If so, how long did it take from them seeing the doctor to it getting done?

Thanks!

Paul got a referral to a place on the London Rd (Think its Valkyrie surgery??) which he was referred to, it took about 3 months, and then had to wait for a letter from there - which we're still waiting for..... Havent bothered to chase it up but the appt needed both of us to be there to talk to dr without any kids.

Is Kester thinking about having the snip?

Just phoned them and they said they know and we'll be contacted. Phoned our practice manager to complain. got letter in nov and have chased up 3 times since but nothing. Not even sure if Paul still wants one but its not the point.

Kester's already been to see the doctor who took his details but didn't really give any info about what happened next. That was about two weeks ago and we were just wondering what to expect/when to follow up as it would be good to get it done asap!

Our letter says we both have to go to a counselling session 'where the procedure will be fully explained'

Is it done in a clinic rather than the hospital then?

Yes We were there literally 15 mins - I had just sat down with a magazine and Tom came back out
I would have thought Kesters would be at the same place

John went after we had Gus and he was about 4 months old when he had it done. He was in and out within 10mins and i sat outside i could hear everything. He said it wasn't bad at all and healed well quick.
