Underactive thyroid

#1 Unread post by Schmushe » Wed Sep 07, 2011 5:03 pm

Just wondered if anyone suffers with a underactive thyroid?

I went a few weeks back now and turns out all my symptoms were the fact my thyroid is bad and my body was shutting down (hence all the symptoms). I am now on 50mg (Levythyroxine) and need to go back for bloods in 2 months to see if its the right dosage or needs to be up'd or reduced. By the sounds of it Im on the meds for life, although I have heard of people being able to stop after a few years?

Well my question is...How quickly did you notice a change in how you were? I have been on them for a while and I have more energy and headaches / dizziness have eased. I still need my glasses occasionally but not all the time and my body doesnt ache as much.

Anyone going through the same thing?? Would be nice to be able to ask questions to someone going through the same thing
