Help! Chicken Pox!

#1 Unread post by sarahsquarepants » Sat Apr 30, 2011 7:26 am

Sarah started getting a few spots yesterday, she has more today. Any advice girls? Does anyone know how long she has to stay off nursery until?

Also she is meant to be going to her Dad's this morning and coming home tomorrow, is she ok to go? She is perfectly happy just covered in spots!

It's usually ok once they have scabbed over - she'll be ok going to her dads but he will have to be careful where they go

If she is happy in herself, then fine to go to dads, obviously needs to watch were they go, all nurseries are different, best check with them tues but normally once all scabbed over, so they don't get infected.

Sarah should be fine to go to her dads, just wont be able to take her to any play centres or anything. I think most nurseries like you to keep them away until all the spots have scabbed over.

my 2 have literally just had it.
Keep her in until she had scabbed over (usually about a week) as soon as shes scabbed she can go back to school and go out.
We kept ours out the bath and got5 them out in the garden as much as possible to, to keep the spots dry and air helps to make things better and thety dnt feel too cooped up.

When you bath her put some ready brek in a cut down old pair of tights then tie the end. something in the oats helps ease the itching, also bicarbonte of soda helps. i found it really helped my my son the other year, he was 3 when he had it. he now has 1 little scar from his worst spot on his tummy. You can also get a cream form of calamin lotion too which is easier to apply xx

I walked past your house on my way to vote and was wondering how she was doing and whether you were all holed up in there in need of rescue.
