Any New Year Resolutions?
Hi Everyone, It's been a while. It's nearly February. Have you made any resolutions? What are they and how are they going? Are you staying motivated and sticking to them? It would be interesting to see what people are up to and it may give others some encouragement too. Look forward to hearing from ...

Hello Everyone,

I'm currently looking at getting a 6 week Beginners Running course set up on a Thursday evening. Given the topic of this thread...
Are any of you interested in this?
Louise, is there anywhere on the site I can post to spread the word?
Thanks

Re: Starting running when you're rubbish at running!
Hello again,
Please don't think like that. People are often nervous before they start, but there really is no need.
The beginners block is designed so that you work at your own pace and build up gradually. You will even smile!

Re: Starting running when you're rubbish at running!
Hello Everyone, Apologies for the delay!! Ok, it's a long one, get comfy. Good question. Lots of people with no running experience head out the front door, go too fast and struggle to breathe, so think they can't run. It's not true I assure you. Following a sensible programme, starting from scratch ...

Re: Lose Weight Issue
Hi Louise, Thank you for your question. Sorry for delayed reply. What was your lifestyle like beforehand? How long have you been changing your diet and exercise and what are you doing at the gym? Are you in the post natal period? Is your body changing, ie toning up, clothes feeling looser? Without w...

Re: Stomach muscles
Hello, How have you been getting on? Any change? You say you go to the gym. Ask one of the trainers to go through some basic core exercises with you. They should do this free of charge. I would post exercises, but without seeing you do them, I am unable to check your technique and alignment, which a...

Re: Stomach muscles
Good evening, Thank you for your message. When did you have your second c-section? How far apart were the 2 births? You really need to focus on the core muscles. These include your deepest stomach muscles (like a corset) and pelvic floor. Strengthening these will help to draw in the more superficial...

Re: Struggling with a return to the gym
Hello there, sorry I seem to have missed this. Ok, this reads like a bit of a questionnaire.. Wow, did you do anything to lose the baby weight so quickly? How did you feel going back to horse rising and judo so early? Is your daughter your first baby? The body goes through many changes in pregnancy ...

Re: Equipment for home
Hi Louise, I would recommend: Good quality resistance bands (they will last). These are great for toning, small and easy to take with you anywhere. A swiss ball. These are large inflatable balls, they are fantastic for core exercise/balance training. There are endless exercises you can do with them....

Re: How often to exercise
Good question. There are many different reasons people exercise and the benefits of exercise are not just physical. Everyone is different, lifestyle, current fitness, medical condition etc, so a general answer is quite difficult. As a rule doing moderate exercise 5 times a week for 30 mins is a good...

Re: Injuries and exercise
Hi Michelle, Thanks for your question. Do you know what triggered it? Are you finding it's easing up? Has the doctor said exactly what you've done? How old are your children? Sorry, many questions. We can often injure ourselves doing repetitive movements and lifting. You can adapt and make the cross...
