If you have a child who enjoys performing, the Towngate Theatre is holding open auditions for its 2026–27 pantomime, Aladdin.

Each year, the theatre invites local children to join the Young Ensemble, giving them the chance to take part in a full-scale production alongside a professional cast.

Audition Details

  • Date: Sunday 14th June 2026
  • Location: Towngate Theatre, St. Martin’s Square, Basildon
  • Ages: 9–15 years (as of 1st September 2026)
  • Requirement: Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian

About the Production

The Towngate’s pantomimes are a regular part of Christmas for many local families, known for their mix of music, comedy and traditional panto storytelling.

This year’s Aladdin will once again be produced in partnership with Evolution Productions, with familiar faces returning including Sophie Ladds and Ian Hallard.
