Baby cinema for parents and guardians at Chelmsford Picture House

An exciting new initiative at Chelmsford’s Picture House at the Cramphorn Studio, will see some of the best new films screened in a specially designed atmosphere for babies.

The ‘Baby Cinema’ events are specifically aimed at parents and guardians with little ones, and will feature softer volume and slightly brighter lighting. Tom Johnson, Chelmsford Picture House Manager, explains: “Some parents and guardians may feel put off going to the cinema with babies, that’s why we’ve set up ‘Baby Cinema’. As the screenings are for those with babies, there will be no ‘outraged audience’ if the little ones do decide to make a few gurgles whilst in the Picture House. It also gives adults a chance to spend time with baby, relax, meet up with friends and enjoy a good film.”

The ‘Baby Cinema’ will screen ‘My Cousin Rachel’ on Monday 11 September, ‘Wonder Woman’ on Monday 25 September, ‘The Midwife’ on Monday 9 October, with more films to follow later in the year. For all films babies are free and the screenings start at 10am.

Tickets are priced £6.90 per adult and £5.90 for concessions. Full time students and unemployed are £4.00. Babies are free. For full details and to book tickets visit www.chelmsford.gov.uk/theatres or call the Box Office – Tel No: 01245 606505.
