New Mum Southend

#1 Unread post by Lireal » Mon Nov 18, 2013 10:31 am

Hi all!

I'm about to become a first time mum via adoption. My little blue will be 13 months old when he comes home. Looking for any advice and potentially a list of items that are a must!

Ty, Lireal.

Thanks Tracy!

Sleep is definitely high on my agenda at the moment. I'm going shopping to Kiddicare tomorrow which is exciting :) Finally get to go shopping with a little one in mind rather than a 'what if'.

:)

Welcome to Essex mind lireal.
I'm Emma. Mum to Finn who's 5 and Isla who's 2. I'm also in southend.
Wow, how exciting. That's a lovely age too. He'll be in to everything so you'll have to toddler proof your house. How long until he comes home?
We have a daily thread where us regulars chat. I've also made some lovely friends and having only moved to southend a year ago have found this site invaluable.

Hi Emma!

He'll be home just after new years. We have pretty much everything sorted, just need to sort out putting latches on things!

I'm really looking forward to getting to know some mums, especially if they have littlies the same age.

I've lived in Essex for 5 years :)

We're adopting from the UK but I can't tell you more then that for safety. The same as I can't give my real name just yet.

Sitting here writing a list of things to get tomorrow... Any must haves I should pick up?

Hmm, well you're past most of the real baby stuff they need so I think good quality toys - stacking cups, bricks etc. are a must. Is he walking?

Not at the moment. He's just stating pulling himself up on the furniture but he's still a little unsteady on his feet.
