What do you think? Does this list sound fair? What do your kids do?

So let's so, Dexter isn't quite two but does help put away toys and books, and sometimes puts clothes in the washing basket. He tries to lay the table but it ends up a bit everywhere and he will fetch nappies and wipes. I'm sure he would try to dust but I haven't tried him - he does like to wipe tables and sweep up. The others are a bit beyond him I think though!

Iris is 5 and I would say could do all of those. Perhaps not drying and putting away but that's more because our cupboards tend to be a bit haphazard and stuff would fall out! And I don't disinfect doorknobs so wouldn't ask her to! Maybe give them a wipe - she doesn't do that but would do if asked. She also puts away all her clean washing.

Felix, ages 7, doesn't really do any of those! He will do the things Iris does and also put washing away but I can't imagine the mess if he tried to take out the rubbish or mop! Actually he has emptied the dishwasher and has helped weed but a lot of them aren't things I woudl really ask of him.

Some of those chores I think are a bit much for kids.
I wouldn't want a child changing a light bulb.
Nor do I think it's safe for a 8/9 year old to walk the dogs.
As for matching socks, I know some 36 year olds that can't do that.
Have 6 children and you've got all your housework sorted.
Mum to Louise and Andrew, Nanny to Felix, Iris, Dexter and Charlie.

Hmmm.... I'm not sure how bake cookies or a cake can be listed as a chore?

I'm asking my kids to help me water the gardens... and sing for them.
