Private Scan

#1 Unread post by Leanne&5children » Sun Jan 19, 2014 10:57 am

Does anyone know where i can get a private scan at a reasonable price?

This pregnancy feels completly different to the others, and sometimes feel like something is wrong, probably me just over worrying but have ages to my scan date (well feels like ages), also stressing at times that it could be another multiple pregnancy, I just want to put my mind at risk, but ones ive seen are about £100 and don't have that sort of money.

Thanks in advance

Why don't you speak to your local maternity unit and express your concerns - some are willing to scan early to overcome fears and concerns plus it will put you on the correct maternity pathway early

I agree - I know loads of people who have had early scans due to worries and concerns because it is not healthy for you if you are worrying.

How far along are you Leanne? If you're having any pains etc. call the EPU and they will probably scan you. Otherwise I think £100 is about normal unfortunately.

Hi Leanne,

I paid £90 at the clinic in canvey. I had an early scan in EPU at 10 wks with Luca after I had some fluid loss. It sounds like it would be a good idea to have your mind put at rest, I hope the mw can help you. Xx

Only 8 weeks, no pains (well nothing really painful), haven't even had my booking in appointment yet. I can't put my finger on it but sometimes don't feel right, think alot of it is coz i have too much time on my hands now, where in past have always worked so haven't had time to think about it, just got on with it.

Ah yeah, they probably wouldn't scan you unless you'd had some pain etc. Try not to worry. I know it's easier said than done!
