TTC June

#1 Unread post by weezypops » Sun Jun 05, 2011 3:48 pm

Is anyone else currently trying for a baby? On another forum we have a thread to discuss our (ahem) efforts and a little list of dates people are going to test etc. It's sometimes nice to be able to talk about things while you're trying, I think. I don't know if there are enough of us trying on here to make it worthwhile but thought I'd start one anyway to see!

As most of you know, we're currently trying for our third after a couple of miscarriages. I had my first post MC period on 21st May and would have been fertile last week so fingers crossed we were lucky. I will probably test on June 14th if not before. Will try to hold out until then but I'm so impatient!

Anyone else want to be added?

Thanks Michelle.

You're showing some restraint Kathryn! I thought you would be eager to get going, so to speak.

Oh I am, I don't know how long I'll be able to hang on for! I'm having some serious career thoughts at the moment so I'm just trying to get my head straight about what I want to do in the future before we start trying. Plus the longer we leave it the more debt we can pay off before baby arrives, so it is a bit of a balancing act. I've been really good the past few months and managed to pay off a massive amount so I'm aiming to totally wipe out my credit card before I drop.

As far as the career stuff is concerned, I love my job but feel very under valued and often a bit depressed over it. I took some of my kids to a health and social care day at Anglia Ruskin the other day and got talking to some peeps from the operating department. They asked me to come back for an open day on the 14th July and I have to say I'm sorely tempted! The starting wage for an operating room assistant is the same as the starting wage of a teacher!

Operating Room Assistant? As in an operating theatre?

Yeah, assisting surgeons. Prepping the patient, passing them equipment, clamping off arteries, holding organs that sort of stuff :)
