Antenatal exercise classes

#1 Unread post by BevGibbs » Sat Jan 14, 2012 7:01 pm

Hi ladies. I'm currently 21 weeks pregnant and am looking for antenatal exercise classes to participate in. Ideally aquanatal, but also interested in yoga, Pilates and/or aerobics. I live in Shoebury and already have a toddler to ideally need something at weekends or evenings (although I'll be finishing work in April so can do something midweek then while he's at nursery). Trouble is I can't seem to find anything that isn't a bit far to drive or stupidly expensive. Did/does anyone attend any classes in the Shoebury to westcliff area? Wondering if there's any small classes out there that aren't advertised online! Also can't find any aquanatal classes at all :0(

Any help or suggestions would be greats, thanks.

Im afraid im not that local to you, so not sure what would be on offer close to you. However, it is worth having a look on the birthlight yoga website - They have listings of local pregnancy yoga and aquanatal classes. Yoga classes tend to be about £8-9 an hour, with discounts for block bookings of 6 weeks. They are also usually held in the evenings after 1900, which should hopefully make it easier for you to attend. They also tend to be quite small classes / small enterprises, run by individuals in their own home or small community halls - marketing tends to be via word of mouth, so may be why you have had difficulty finding anything. The birthright website lists all current registered practitioners though, so should make things easier!

Good luck and enjoy! Xx
