Hi ya

Yes it is open

Lovely changing rooms. It is a unisex changing village thing and has some very big cubicles that are ideal for families. (They are on the left at the end)

There is a baby pool. WHich is very small and very shallow. There is a mushroom waterfall thing and a tiny slide for toddlers - my 3 year old loves it. My 3 year can touch the bottom in the deep end and still have his head above water.

The main pool is nice - just a normal pool tho and whenever we have been half of it has been lanes.

The diving pool has an udjustable floor but it is hardly ever open. Which is a shame as I used to love jumping in off the diving boards at Warrior as a child.

At busy times they operate a one hour swim policy and let people in every 30 mins. I think they allow 10 mins for changing but call them to check.

I THINK it is about £3.80 for an adult swim. My son is 3 and was free. Lockers are £1.

You have to take your shoes off before you go in the changing rooms and you cannot take pushchairs in with you either. They have buggy padlocks at reception.

If you are planning to go an watch in the spectator gallery - wear your summer clothes as it is very hot in there!

Feel free to ask anything else

http://www.leisurecentre.com/centres/10 ... entre.aspx

This should be their website with timetables and I think they still have their computerised walkthrough thing so you can grasp a feeling for it.

Thank you jenn. Very informative.
Sounds like a bit more hassle than warrior square.
Might try this weekend. Hope the water is warm

The water is quite warm. Baby pool is 32, and the others vary between 30 and 31 degrees.

To be honest - this post was from 2011 so my then 3 year old is now 11 and at HIgh School!!! :D .... pool is the same tho - personally I find the changing area cold but i haven’t been since last Summer so may have improved. It’s on Garon Park in SOuthend near Cecil Jones High School/Kids Kingdom/McDonalds - Postcode would be SS2 4 something probabl.
