MENCAP 5-8s club

#1 Unread post by weezypops » Tue Jul 19, 2011 10:13 pm

The club is for children aged 5 to 8 years of age with learning disabilities and is based at The Eastwood School. They meet every other Saturday in school term time as well as the majority of the school holidays (Christmas is the only holiday the club doesn’t run). There are two sessions each day, 8.45am to 11.45am and 12pm to 3pm. Each session costs £6 and children do need to be booked in advance to ensure they don’t exceed the maximum number per session, which is 10. Children can be booked into both sessions on a day providing the parent feels it won’t be detrimental to the child.

Sessions are random - there is no set structure. Whatever the children wish to do with all the supplies and equipment at the sessions they can. This includes arts and craft, soft play games, sports, music and games/puzzles.

The only criteria to qualify a child to attend the club is that they are aged between 5 and 8 years and have a learning disability.

Please have a look on the website, www.savsmembers.org/southendmencap, where you will also be able to download the current booking forms. In addition, we also run clubs for 8 to 16 years olds (R&R), 16 to 25 year olds (16+) and many adult clubs and all these can be viewed in greater detail on our website.
