I was like that for the last 4 weeks, morning sickness came back and backache which I can only assume was Sam being back to back with me - I was having contractions on and off for the last 3 weeks some just a dull ache and others took my breath away plus my plug came away which caused pains x
Hope you start to feel a bit better soon x the heat doesn't help x

Hi Gemma..

Sounds like it wont be long.. i had that feeling alot towards the end of my pregnancy... and the day i went into labour i was very sick and then my contractions started.

My plug came away at 36weeks and thats when the period pains started.. but i was drinking rasperry leaf tea which was great and it settled everything "down there"

also the raspberry leaf tea made ma have a VERY quick labour.. he litrially popped out without no pain relife and i was in and out within a day.. xx

Cramps are likely to be braxton hicks - they tend to be more noticeable in subsequent pregnancies. So long as they are not regular and no show, waters breaking etc, then unlikely to be labour. Icky feeling is common too in later pregnancy as baby puts more pressure on your tummy - the sphincter muscle that shuts off your oesophagus (food tube!) to your tummy also relaxes more due to hormonal influence towards the end of pregnancy, allowing stomach acid to bubble out into the oesophagus, so contributing to increased reflux, heartburn and indigestion, as well as nausea (delightful eh!) it can be eased by better posture and deep breathing into your abdomen, which enables your lungs to expand more freely and creates more space for your uterus, thereby reducing the pressure on your stomach. (If you were having a vaginal birth, this increases urgh is a great sign that your body is heading in the right direction for birthing by softening and relaxing ligaments etc.)
Some women also find They are more comfortable either eating little and often, or by having a main meal at lunch and just something very light, small and easy to digest for tea.
Not long now and all great signs that baby is getting ready to meet you! X

My Braxton Hicks were so much worse with Iris than with Felix. With him they were mildy uncomfortable, but with Iris they really did hurt at times and were generally much stronger. Sorry you feel rough Gemma, not long now!

Harry was born on his due date 16-10-10.

I suffered with braxton hicks from about 30 weeks and they really hurt!!

My Best friend had her first at 37weeks.

It sounds like your uturus is softening, which is very good as it means that you may be in for a quick labour.xx
