Always apreciate your advice and input and of course im going to call my mw 2mor if im still unsure but with "Preg pains" I no so many are common but with Jack I had nothing.

I have a lower abdominal pain that feels like I need to wee constantly. Im weeing lots so thats ok.
It came on this afternoon took a couple of paracetamol and went away.. by coinsidence I dont no?! Its come back on this evening pretty much the same. Its a dull ache but sharp and occasionally I will get a shootimg pain, hurts more when I move about. Hope this makes sense.
Im going to take some paracetamol again and have a nice warm bath but have you experienced this is this known as the 'round ligament pain'? Ill be 15 weeks 2mor.
Thankyouuuu lovelys for any info and of course midwife :D

It does sound like round ligament pain to me, though the wee thing is odd - maybe it's the pressure of your bladder on those stretching ligaments?

The baby centre etc says that the round ligament pain can feel as if its pressing on your bladder etc.
Its just so painful????!

Did you have it Lou, does it sound like it? Ty x

Could also be wee infection. Its quite easy to know you have Cystitis when you are not pregnant, but during pregnancy symptoms can be tricky to work out, as ligaments are stretching, you wee more because of pressure on your bladder, nerve endings get a bit numb etc. However, it is easily checked out by your midwife or gp, and it is important that you do this at the earliest opportunity to prevent infection from worsening ir irritating your uterus. It is easily treated with a course of pregnancy friendly antibiotics...far better to take these and be treated effectively than to allow infection to continue unchecked. So midwife or gp tomorrow a good plan!

In the mean time, drink clear fluids, avoiding caffeine which can irritate your bladder. Cranberry juice is very good for wee infection as it stops certain types if bacteria from being able to cling on inside your bladder so well. Wee when you need to and paracetamol 6 hrly, max 8 tablets (1g) in 24 hours.
If it's ligament pain, it will ease as they stretch, but occasional paracetamol until then us fine.

I did and it was painful at times! More so with Iris than with Felix which surprised me as I would have assumed they would have to stretch more with your first than second!

I was going to say it sounds a bit like a UTI.
Alot of GP's give you antibiotics just in case (even if there are no signs in your urine sample). So always worth checking.

Claire - I have a community mw office to ring for advice.

Bless em, transfered to the epu dept.
They are pretty sure that its the stretching ligament pain but suggested that my urine is checked out to rule out an infection. So thats what ill do. Pop into my docs.
Just take paracetamol?! Hard stuff eh

Hope all is well Gemma, With brentwood you have to choose between Queens in Romford or Basildon Hospital or a home birth. If you choose Home or Queens then we have a community midwife team at our community hospital in town they are hired by Barking and redbridge PCT and they look after you. If you choose Basildon your stranded as the Basildon team dont come to Brentwood. it';s a choice I made so I have to live with it. I can always call the hospital labour ward for advice if I need it and I have a good Dr so I'm not worried.
