Preschools in Brentwood

#1 Unread post by Ellamummy » Wed Jun 25, 2008 7:27 am

I am trying to find a good preschool in Brentwood for my daughter Ella. I was told to look at ofsted reports but I can't find anything on the website (though I could look up the Infant schools easily).

Does anyone know of good ones in the area?

Thanks

Good luck! Most of the brentwood ones are rubbish. There is brightsparks in King Georges Rugby club, but when I went there to pick up a form the other day the staff were ever so rude. There is also Gooseberry Green pre-school at Hogarth school, which has mixed reviews

This link should find you the ofsteds you need http://www.ofsted.gov.uk/portal/site/In ... ED&miles=5

If it doesn't work you need to choose childrens daycare providers when you are looking on the ofsted listing

Thanks hun.

They all seem very similar in their Ofsted reports! One was really good but it was a nursery rather then a pre-school.

Guess I will just have to do some investigating!

You can send Ella to a nursery just mornings or just afternoons and get the government funding still. I'm keeping Tom at Poppetts where he will start next week and when he turns three some of his sesisons will be funded.

Hey,

Go and view all the nursery and please just don't go on ofsted reports. They aren't always right!!

I've been in nurseries while training who had fab ofsted reports but behind closed doors were pretty crap!!

Take Ella with you and see where she feels happy and comfortable.

Phoenix is one of the best along with Poppetts where Tom is going as of next week. Laurens right though have a good look around and try to do a spot visit! I've heard bad things about cleverclogs up library hill though but their one by the station is supposed to be great.

Thanks girls. I have to admit as most of my friends don't have children and/or don't live in this area I have been breifly reading through the Ofsted reports and trying to use them.

I am going to look at a few more and see what I think. I have about a year/year and half before I send her but it seems like you have to decide these things and schools before they are born!

I only got into poppetts through the back door. The waiting list for most is well over a year!
