We're holding a taster eve for our new Beaver Section (6-8 year old girls & boys plus adults) at The Mardyke Community centre 6-7pm
Scouting is the UK's largest co-ed youth movement, we're opening a new group at The Mardyke Community Centre, starting with Beavers. Scouting offers young people the chance to learn new skills by having fun & making new friends, it builds confidence and encourages them to become valued citizens. They also get to enjoy the outside world through camping and challenges. Its for adults too, we are run by volunteers so please contact us to join.
Beaver scouts is for girls & boys between the ages of 6/8 years old. They learn by doing and have an exciting programme of activities. The section is run by volunteers (we're recruiting adults too!!) they work as a team to create and run a weekly programme that includes outside games and activities such as camping, map reading, welly & torch walks, and inside such as crafts, spaghetti knots, games, crab football etc. They also earn badges to show how much they have learnt.
The taster is for children ages 6-8 yrs and an adult to come along and try out some of the fun to be had. It is for an hour on 21st September 6-7pm at the Mardyke Youth & Community Centre.
