A new social skills group for children aged between 4 and 11 years old with autism and social communication difficulties is starting in your area.

The aim is to support every child to develop concrete strategies that break down complex verbal conversational language and social interactions to help students become aware of the impact their words and actions have on other people’s thoughts, emotions, and actions.

Each lesson will have clear outcomes and homework sheets for skills to be generalised within their home and school.

The club will be suitable for pupils have basic communication skills and each lesson will be adapted to meet all of their specific needs. Covering topics based on; basic communication, play skills, emotions, friendship and conversational skills. Delivered by experts in Autism and behaviour with more than 11 years of experience of working in this field.

Social detectives will during the summer and then continue as an afterschool club on a weekly basis at Westleigh Baptist Church, London Road, SS9 2AJ.

Summer club: 1st-5th/15th-19th August daily from 9:30 till 12:30 in the memorial hall, costing £13.50 per session.
Afterschool club: Commencing Friday 9th September weekly from 3:30-5:00 in the Glendale room, costing £7.50.
