Do you have a young Witch or Wizard? Brightworth’s are opening their doors this Halloween half term to welcome a new class into their School of Magic.

Every day from the 23rd – 27th October, Hedingham Castle will be host to budding Wizards & Witches who wish to enrol at Brightworth’s School of Magic. The magical doors will open twice each day, in the morning at 10.30am to 1pm and in the afternoon at 1.30pm to 4pm.

You will meet the Brightworth teachers to learn and take part in their specialist subjects; from Magic Wands to Potions and Enchanted Animals to Mystical Spells.

The entire event happens inside our Magical Castle Academy, so no need to worry about the weather. Costumes are allowed, sorcery themed outfits encouraged!

Brightworth’s Magic School is aimed at ages 3 to 14 but older kids and parents may just learn a spell or two too!

What’s included:
- 2+ Hour Magic School Session
- A Magic Wand for every child to keep, they can even decorate them
- Entry to the Enchanted Animals Enclosure: Small Mammals, Reptiles and some unusual creatures, many of which can be handled
- Potion and Magic Classes: interactive classes with our teachers, learning about spells, potions and magic
- 2022 Diary and School Certificate: Get your diary book stamped by each teacher and earn your Magic School Certificate

The Owls are well rested and raring to go!

Come and join the brilliant Eden Falconry for a magical evening at the historic Hedingham Castle. During this fantastic candlelit encounter, you will witness a variety of owls and experience these beautiful birds demonstrating their natural abilities, and have them fly to your gloved fist. The evening will begin with a welcome by our team of expert falconers who will guide you throughout the duration of the experience. You will then have the chance to meet the feathered members of our flying team, where you will have the opportunity not just to hold but to also fly our owls. Enjoy learning about each bird’s habitat, prey and their survival in the wild, together with their individual characters. We will be flying a variety of owls to your gloved hand after the sun has set for a breathtaking atmosphere - the perfect time to step into the nocturnal world of owls.

Limited tickets available to ensure all guests have time to fly and handle the owls. Not suitable for children under 8 years of age.

Join us for a fantastic night of live music in the atmospheric Tapestry Room of the Castle.

KEGS are a respected band of impeccable musical talent and are renowned for their interesting arrangements and tight sound, having played in concerts, festivals, folk clubs and much more for many years. Their repertoire is extensive and eclectic, drawing upon the international folk tradition and pop culture, as well as self penned music and original songs, using the unique harmonies of the melodeon, flute, whistle, fiddle, recorder and guitar.

This is an accessible show, situated on the Castle’s ground floor. A full bar will be available on the evening. Doors open at 6.30pm for an 8.00pm start. The show will end at 10.00pm.

The critically-acclaimed Pantaloons proudly present an affectionately anarchic adaptation of Charles Dickens’ captivating coming-of-age chronicle.

“My father’s family name being Pirrip, and my Christian name Philip, my infant tongue could make of both names nothing longer or more explicit than Pip. So, I called myself Pip, and came to be called Pip.”

Join Pip the orphan on a journey through his eventful life via hilarious turns and tragic twists; filled with escaped convicts, eccentric spinsters, mysterious benefactors and gut-wrenching heartbreak.

Performance will take place in the elegant Ballroom Marquee which is fully accessible and seated. A full bar will be open on the night.

Join Moonstone Murder Mysteries and Hedingham Castle in the Ballroom Marquee for a fun festive evening packed with clues, plot-twists, suspicious suspects and plenty of red herrings along the way! You are the detectives and it’s your job to crack the case before it too late.

‘Twas the weekend before Christmas, and all through the grotto;
Not a creature was stirring, but there’s prints in the snow...

It seems someone has forgotten the rule of the mouse to keep quiet, and whoever has been stirring has killed off Mrs Claus in the Helix Garden centre grotto! As the centre tries to keep its festive cheer and carry on, Inspector Rutherford is determined to get to the bottom of who's been on this year's naughty list, before it's too late.

Can you catch the killer?

£85 per person: Tickets include a welcome drink, elegant 3-course dinner with coffee, half a bottle of wine per person and DJ after party. The bar will also be open throughout the evening.

Following on from the sell-out success of last year’s tour, join IK Productions for their new interpretation of the classic story Jack and the Beanstalk! IKP’s annual pop-up panto tour is bringing big heart, massive laughs and giant fun around this UK this December, with a brand new panto which promises to delight and excite audiences of all ages! Babes in arms (under 2s sitting on an adult’s lap) go free.

The hugely popular escape space at Hedingham Castle has been revamped for the festive period! Situated inside the Castle itself, on the very top floor, the magic of the 900-year-old Keep is a stunning setting for a completely immersive experience - perfect for a rainy afternoon activity, festive family treat or something different to do on a date.

The Missing Suit will open from Sunday 27th November for a range of dates throughout December and January including the Christmas school holidays.
It’s almost Christmas and the Elves have been very busy preparing for the Big Day. All except one naughty Elf, Rudy. Furious after being given stable duty (and Rudolph has eaten a LOT of carrots), Rudy has hidden Santa’s suit in Hedingham Castle; one of the many Present Preparation Stations that are secretly hidden all over the world.

Head Elf Tinsel has called upon some of the children and grown ups on her Nice List to help solve the clues Rudy has left, find Santa’s Magical Suit and save Christmas before it's too late!

The Missing Suit is recommended for ages 6+, younger children are welcome if attending in a family group. The game is suitable for 2-6 Players, or up to 8 Players if 2 or more are children. Our escape room is situated at the very top of Hedingham Castle and is accessed only via the spiral stairs, please wear suitable footwear.
