Layer Marney Tower is England’s tallest Tudor gatehouse and has everything you need for a great day out: magnificent views, play areas, gardens, wildlife walks and 120 acres of parkland. The Tearoom serves both light lunches as well as tea and cakes and the Shop offers souvenirs, cards and gifts. Layer Marney Tower was built in the 1520’s by Henry Marney, Lord Privy Seal to Henry VIII. His ambition was to surpass Hampton Court in both size and grandeur.

TOWER TOURS
Tower Tours, for which there is no additional charge,
start at 2.00pm and last approximately one hour.

INVITATION TO VIEW
Are tours led by the owners, last approximately 2 hours,
include refreshments and access to parts of the house
not normally open.

GUIDED TOURS
Can be arranged throughout the year for groups.
