Go Ape Chelmsford Review, Essex Mums

We Visited: Go Ape Chelmsford

We had a really fun time at Go Ape in Hylands Park Chelmsford. As a family, we decided to embark on this adventure together – that included an energetic 4-year-old, an adventurous 12-year-old, and enthusiastic adults! We opted for the treetop adventure course, which is open to anyone over 1m tall and was the perfect way for us all to enjoy the experience together.

Safe and Welcoming Environment

Upon our arrival, we were greeted by friendly staff who guided us to the main office where we securely stored all of our loose items and bags. It was reassuring to see that the staff took safety seriously and ensured that all harnesses were properly fitted before we began our adventure. The harnesses were even rechecked before we started the practice course, giving us an extra layer of confidence. This attention to detail allowed me to assist my 4-year-old navigate the practice course and it put my mind at ease seeing them get to grips with everything before they headed out to the main course.

Throughout the entire experience, our harnesses were regularly inspected, including before each exhilarating zip wire. We were impressed by the level of professionalism and care provided by the staff. Furthermore, at the end of each zip wire, there was always a friendly and attentive staff member available to assist the younger children in unclipping and safely climbing off the platforms.

Fun for the Whole Family

Go Ape truly offers an adventure that the whole family can enjoy. We had an amazing time and felt fully supported by the friendly instructors. Even when we had a nervous climber in our group, the instructors were patient, encouraging, and provided the necessary guidance to overcome any fears. We greatly appreciated the relaxed pace of the experience, as it allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the course and enjoy every moment. To top it off, at the end of our adventure, we were delighted to receive stickers and certificates as special mementos.

As the sun began to set during our visit, we were treated to a breathtaking view of the beautiful sunset from high up in the trees. As the sun set the course came alive with a beautiful glow of coloured lights, it felt pretty magical. They actually have a sundown experience, an evening adventure where the course is illuminated with stunning coloured lights.

Course Options and Facilities

Go Ape offers a range of high rope experiences to cater to different levels of adventure. With three distinct courses available, each varying in length and price, there is something for everyone. Although we opted for the treetop adventure course this time, we are already excited to return and challenge ourselves on the higher courses when we don’t have the little ones with us.

Convenient parking is available near the Go Ape entrance, although it does require payment. Additionally, there are well-maintained toilets conveniently located opposite the entrance, ensuring that our visit was comfortable and hassle-free.

Our adventure had a later time slot so we didn’t have a chance to explore the surrounding park on this occasion but next time we’ll book earlier so we can explore the park too! This experience is a great choice for a day out that the whole family can participate in, we looking forward to future visits to Go Ape.
