Jenny writes: It is not surprising that the Varberg fleece lined PU rainwear from Kozi Kidz is award winning because it is the best waterproof rainwear that either of my children have ever had and I wish I had known about the range when my eldest son was younger! It is extremely well designed and very well made and I would definitely recommend to other parents.
They are made from phthalate free polyester with a polyurethane (PU) coating. Unlike many waterproof coats and trousers for children they are not noisy and do not rustle as your child bends and moves yet they still allow the child to move and bend freely as they are not rigid or stiff.
Together with welded seams and fully covered zip, this rainwear is 100% waterproof and with a good peaked hood, even the face is protected from the elements. They also protect your child from the wind.
The clothing is also fully lined with a 200g polyester fleece lining meaning that the rainwear is ideal for those cold, stormy days or when you are going to be out for long lengths of time. This also means that there is no need for lots of bulky layers underneath the rainwear which would lead to restricted movement for the child.
Although the rainwear is lovely and warm and extremely waterproof, they are also very light which again means that your child has the freedom to be able to move easily.
I completely love this rainwear. The colour and design of the jacket is bright, jolly and attractive and would also suit both boys and girls. It really does make you smile when you see your child in it. There are also reflective stripes and large dots on both the jacket and trousers which always help to reassure you in knowing that your child can be seen when it gets dark early on those shorter winter days. The hood is detachable and we are impressed with the zip ‘garage’ which stops the zip from rubbing against your child’s chin when the jacket is fully done up.
The trousers are also extremely well designed. The dungaree style ensures that the trousers do not fall down and also mean that your child is fully protected from the wind and rain when bending over or sitting. The braces on the dungarees are fully adjustable and made from an elasticated band meaning that your child is still free to move or stretch as necessary. The clip that has been used on the buckle is very ‘gentle’ as you open and close it and so is safe for your child to use themselves as they shouldn’t get their little fingers caught or trapped in them.
To ensure a good fit for your child, there are also poppers on the waist of the dungarees and also adjustable, elasticated foot straps to hold your child’s wellies in place.
At first my son was a bit apprehensive to put on the rainwear but as soon as he realised that he was allowed to go out and play in the rain when wearing it, he now eagerly puts it on when asked and even goes and gets it when he sees it raining. He is completely dry after a good rainy session and therefore we are both very happy.
