Mini Bean Burgers

Serves: 6 mini burgers

Anything mini goes down well with little hands. Yes they’ll probably pull the whole burger apart and eat each bit in a certain order but that is just more fun… right??!! Anyway, these are easy to make and you’ve probably got nearly all the ingredients sitting in your fridge and kitchen cupboard anyway so why not give it a go?


Prep time: 10 minutes

Cook time: 20 minutes


What do I need?

  • ¼ tin of butter beans
  • 1 slice of toast blitzed
  • ¼ onion chopped
  • Garlic clove crushed
  • 1 mushroom chopped
  • Chilli flakes
  • Cumin (sprinkle)
  • Water
  • Nutritional yeast flakes
  • 1 egg


What do I do?

  • Mash the beans with a fork
  • Add to a food blender with onion, garlic, mushroom, toast, chilli, cumin, nutritional yeast and egg and blitz
  • Add water a tbsp at a time to create a thick mouldable mixture
  • Make into patty shapes
  • Fry a few minutes on each side in a little olive oil
  • Bake in the oven for around 15minutes on 200c until crispy and cooked
  • Toast another slice of bread and cut out circle shapes to make your burger buns
  • Slice cucumber and cherry tomato to garnish
  • These could also be cooked on the BBQ
