Whether you are a beginner or a more experienced singer, lessons and regular practice can help you fulfil your true potential.

SINGING LESSONS….WHAT TO EXPECT:
The first half of your lesson will be spent working on weaknesses within your voice that are specific to you. I can easily diagnose these and design scales and exercises that will start you on the right road to strengthening these areas. You will be provided with scales and instructions to continue your practice at home and all lessons are recorded and emailed to you so you can listen to your progression.

PUTTING IT INTO PRACTICE:
The second half will be spent working on a song of your choice from either my backing track list or one we can download and add to it. We will then work on applying the techniques to actual songs. I provide all backing tracks free of charge.

AS TIME GOES BY:
I can coach you for a gig or audition, help you master mic technique, work on harmonies and on expressing different sounds within your voice to enhance your performance.

COMMON VOCAL FAULTS AND ACTIONS:
– Singing with tension and strain
Have you ever tried to sing a song and not been able to reach the higher notes? This happens when the vocal chords are being used incorrectly. Understanding how the voice actually works will eliminate tension and allow you to sing high notes with ease. Vocal strain occurs when the vocal chords are being blasted with too much air or not holding together because of too little air. You will learn the optimum amount of air flow to allow the vocal chords to remain relaxed and allow you to reach those high notes.

-Having a restricted range
Once a knowledge of the different registers (chest/middle/head voice) is taught and how to transition smoothly through them, vocal range is easily increased.
-Breathy voice and/or hard voice
Understanding how the vocal chords react to breath will improve the texture and tone of your voice.

-Vocal breaks and cracks
These occur when the vocal chords are overloaded with too much air. Understanding how to control the airflow will smooth out any breaks.

-Lack of confidence
As soon as you start understanding how your voice works and being able to control what comes out of your mouth, your confidence will increase no end. There will be no holding you back!

All these issues and more will be addressed in your lessons. Scales and exercises will be specifically designed to suit your individual needs.
All lessons are recorded and e-mailed to you so you can continue your practice at home.
