The Essex Police Museum is a true hidden gem and a great place to visit for all ages.
Open every Saturday from 10am to 4pm you can explore the history of policing in Essex by getting hands on – try on the police uniform, take your fingerprints or try on the handcuffs! There is plenty to see and do, you can visit a Victorian police cell or play games on the police box and young detectives can help find objects in the museum with our special detective trails and kits. And if you want more, there’s a park next door to burn that left over energy!
There are children’s based events every week and during the school holidays, and there is plenty of free parking on Saturdays. Admission is free and there is no need to book. Just drop in anytime from 10am to 4pm. Last admission is 3.30pm
