Award winning children’s pre-school and after-school cookery classes arrive in Southend and Rochford
Sometimes it can be difficult for parents to find time to teach their children to cook whilst juggling an already busy lifestyle. Parents are all too aware of the importance of teaching this essential life skill, however putting this into practice isn’t always so simple. With the arrival of award winning children’s pre-school and after-school cookery classes to , things have just got that little bit easier for Mums and Dads!
Sharon of Cook Stars Southend and Rochford said: “I’m so happy to be bringing Cook Stars to the area, I love cooking and am so excited to have opportunity to share my passion for cooking with budding little chefs!” Sharon adds “We provide everything at our classes so parents can simply bring their children along and start cooking. Our classes are hands on, fun and interactive. In our opinion there is no better way to teach a child than through play. Our ethos is to ‘make cooking child’s play’ which we certainly do!”
At Cook Stars, every child has their own workstation and creates their own dish each week to take home. Sharon explains, “Children are immensely capable and parents are amazed at the variety of dishes their children cook with us! By getting kids involved in preparing and making their own food it is amazing what they will try”.
By its very nature cooking is great fun for children and the classes keep kids engaged and interested throughout. Cook Stars encourages inquisitive learners to get stuck in with whisking, mixing, rolling and chopping. There is something different on the menu each week with inspiration taken from a great variety of dishes from around the world, so children have the opportunity to explore and learn about a variety of ingredients and try out new foods. Every class offers plenty of hands-on experience in preparing different dishes and having lots of messy fun in the process!
From dicing to icing, the children in the class are fully involved in every step of the dish and by home time they can’t wait to try their creations!
At each class everything is provided from all the equipment to the ingredients, aprons and a recipe card to take home. The children also get to do a different craft activity each week while their dishes are in the oven cooking. Other good news is that the first class is FREE!
As well as offering a range of pre-school, after school and Saturday classes, Cook Stars also provide parents with hassle free birthday party experiences.
Sharon said: “At a Cook Stars party we take care of EVERYTHING so parents can sit back, relax and enjoy the occasion too. We even do the washing up!” Hermione, aged 6, recently had a Cook Stars birthday party and said it was the “Best birthday ever!”
