Upcycled Crayons

crayons1I love this! Thanks to Clair for another fantastic idea!

Fed up of finding bits and pieces of broken crayon about the place that end up getting thrown out?

You can up cycle old crayons really simple with the use of an silicone ice cube mould and pieces of crayons. We got some special moulds shaped like dinosaurs and robots make sure they can go in the oven! Hard plastic ones can’t go on the oven and will melt and make a big mess.

We put pieces of crayons in the mould and then popped them in the oven on a tray at around 150 degrees for about 8-10 minutes. You might want to keep and eye on them every few minutes just until they have melted. Leave to cool completely- overnight is best, and then you have it! Fun new crayons to use again 🙂
