Mayor of Chelmsford officially opens new state-of-the-art IVF clinic

It was smiles all round when the Mayor of Chelmsford officially opened the East of England’s newest and most state-of-the-art fertility centre in Chelmsford last week.

The pioneering fertility clinic, based in Great Baddow, offers local people looking to start a family the latest IVF techniques and treatments on their doorstep.

At the opening, Mayor of Chelmsford Councillor Duncan Lumley officially cut the ribbon and said:  “It refreshes me to see a beautifully designed and well thought out facility for patients.  It houses some of the most sophisticated equipment which is used to create and change peoples’ lives.  I’m very excited about what Simply Fertility will bring to the population of Chelmsford and Essex.”

Earlier in the day, patients past and present celebrated the launch of Simply Fertility with staff at a special afternoon tea.

Centre Manager and Embryologist Sarah Walt explained:  “We are very proud to have had some excellent success rates working with our sister clinic Boston Place.  We have had over 120 babies born and more than 90 others are on the way.  We hope that now that we have this wonderful space, we can create many more bundles of joy in the future.”

Simply Fertility is part of the Fertility Partnership – one of the largest providers of IVF in the UK, welcoming a new baby into the world every four hours.  The Fertility Partnership invested £2 million in the new centre, which boasts the latest and most state-of-the-art equipment including time lapse technology which allows scientists to choose the healthiest embryos for transfer during IVF, and monitor development in a way which is undisturbed, increasingly the likelihood of successful pregnancy.
