Plan the perfect Baby Shower with our Baby Shower checklist!

Looking for baby shower inspiration?

We had a great time at Beloved Creations bringing together a selection of the best local suppliers to show you how to organise a baby shower.  Remember this is something you can do wherever you are, you can use social media such as Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest to help you find baby shower venue ideas, themes and decorations.

Let us share with you how we organised our baby shower showcase.

Our theme was classy and neutral in the style of an afternoon tea.

Firstly, decide on your budget as it is very easy to get carried away! Once you have this in mind, you can then start looking at venues, such as a local café, restaurant or hotel or in the home to minimise costs.

We decided to use a local cafe as our venue, which we knew would be perfect, as it was bright and spacious.  Their upstairs balcony room sold the venue to us, as it happens to overlook beautiful gardens.  It was a great size and also allows you to step out onto the balcony to get some fresh air and beautiful photos.  This venue is also child friendly, if you plan to invite children to the baby shower.

Decide on a Theme!  This can be a tricky one, as we love a Peter Rabbit and Disney Baby Shower theme at the moment, however we decided to go for a neutral classy theme with pastel colours, as many Mums won’t know the gender of the baby and this is a great way to avoid restricting yourself.

The invitations – once you have decided on a date, time, theme and venue you will need to get those invites in the post.  We used a local stationery designer to create our baby shower invitations and baby prediction (wishes for baby) cards.  We decided to go for a baby grow style invite, to be a bit different. You can also make these yourself or take a look on Etsy for some handmade invitation ideas.

I admit, we wanted to go wild with the baby shower props, however we decided less is more!  Firstly, no celebration would be complete without balloons!  We discussed our very specific ideas with Bespoke Stuffed Balloons and decided a couple of helium filled stuffed balloons would be perfect.  These came filled with pastel coloured smaller balloons inside (but can also be filled with feathers or confetti).  We also ordered 6 normal sized balloons filled with helium in mint and white colours with the words ‘hello world and some with a few white clouds. These were perfect for placing around the room and really made the event come together as a celebration.

The table set up & display – we requested a round table set for 10 with classic afternoon tea style china (not matching), and had two long tables for baby gifts, games, drinks, and food.

We asked a local Florist to create a classy pastel coloured floral arrangement for our baby shower, we placed these into jars of all different shapes and sizes complete with hessian and lace to add that finishing touch.  We also had some flowers on the baby gift table.  We searched Etsy for some handmade paper butterflies to scatter across the tables (an alternative to the standard baby shower confetti).

Baby Shower Favours – we created these ourselves, using mini jars, filled with very colourful sweets and a beautiful ‘thank you’ gift tag tied around each one.  However, you can have mini gift bags, nail varnishes or hand creams, fudge, cupcakes, or personalised chocolates.

No baby shower would be complete without cupcakes!  A local cupcake shop baked us some delicious cupcakes which can be personalised to any design.  We had these made to match our neutral theme and decided to have our Beloved Creations logo on a couple to show that you can customise them in virtually any way you want!  We also brought along our large Kilner jug which we filled with fruit juice and supplied kilner glasses and some mint and rose gold straws and napkins to go with our theme. If cupcakes are not your thing, you could order some Krispy Kreme Donuts or handmade macarons!

Unique baby gifts the new parents won’t already have!

So what did we bring to the party?  The baby shower gifts, of course!  We supplied a beautiful range of neutral baby gifts, perfect for the baby shower.  We took along some of our favourites, which included our Neutral Peter Rabbit Nappy Cake which makes a stunning centre piece on the gift table, a neutral baby clothes bouquet, unisex baby hamper and baby clothes cupcakes.  We wanted to show the range of gifts we offer, which come in various sizes, themes and colours, catering for all budgets. We offer a range of new baby gift sets, ideal for the baby shower.

The room was finished off with handmade bunting, borrowed from a very talented friend’s Mum who made this for her daughter’s wedding.  It was perfect and really finished the room off in style.
