  • Rhymes of ColchesterCoCo’s Performing arts group present Ryhmes of Colchester. A pupptery show that tells the story of some of Colchester long history through ryhmes that have links to the town. Billie asks his Grandad for a story it was surpose to be a quick read but Billies curiosity takes over and through Billies imagination the audience sees the stories unfold.
  • Scary Sketching and Dreadful Drawing: Scared of drawing?   • Bronze Age c. 3500 BC – AD 2018Hauser & Wirth gallery’s satirical museological presentation first made for Frieze London 2017. The exhibition recreates a fictional Bronze Age presentation from a forgotten museum. Conceived and originated by Dr. Neil Wenman in collaboration with Mary Beard, Professor of Classics at the University of Cambridge, the exhibition focuses solely on works made of bronze or from the Bronze Age period.

  • Gory Make-up: Come to Signals for the perfect halloween preparation and transform yourself into a macabre monster or a ghastly ghoul. This workshop is led by professional make-up artist Deborah Lee, who worked for Madame Tussauds London on various projects worldwide and her speciality is special fx makeup.

  • Scary Campfire Stories: “It was a dark and stormy night……..”. Dare you join us for some truly spooky (and sometimes funny) stories around our campfire this Halloween? Come and get creeped out while enjoying some warming hot chocolate and toasting marshmallows for some gooey smores!

  • Spooky Skeletons Workshop: Join artist Alison Stockmarr for this FREE family drop in workshop where we will be upcycing plastic milk bottles to make jointed skeletons and making masks to spook everyone this Halloween season.

 

The Naze

  • Creepy crawlies: Things that wriggle, crawl, creep and slither. Hunt for creepy crawlies, make a spider in a web to take home and have a go at our very messy bug hunt relay game!
  • Dinosaur Crafts: Arts and crafts morning with a dinosaur theme with plenty to make and do.
  • Extinction Trail: Follow our self led trail to discover some of the worlds extinct animal species, what caused their extinction! Can you spot any of their fossils in our fossil display cabinets. Complete our extinction trail and head back to the centre for a prize!
  • Lantern Walk: Join us for a dusk lantern walk around the Naze, watch out for the surprises along the way. This event is suitable for younger children. You can make a willow lantern with us in the centre during the day (check our events for more details) or bring your own lantern. Booking is essential for this event.
  • Spooky Tales at the Naze: The ghostly tales and legends of The Naze come to life for an evening of spooks and scares. Join us in your spookiest fancy dress for a night time trail with a halloween twist.£6 per person.
  • Willow Lantern Making: Come and make a willow lantern ready for halloween. There will also be a chance to use your lantern at our lantern walk in the evening.
  • Witches and Wizards: A morning of potions and wizardry. We will be making our own broom sticks or wizards wands and practicing our potion making, then heading out onto The Naze to hunt for ingredients to create our own magic potions.
