  • Game in a Day, 11+: Learn game design and make awesome games using Construct 3. Design, prototype and play test your very own 2D game under the expert guidance of our game design tutors. Construct3 is a powerful game design engine that allows you to make games for phones, tablets, computers and games consoles
  • Stop Motion Animation, 9+: Make miniature sets and characters, and animate your own short film. If you can imagine it, we’ll help you animate it! Using a range of artist materials such as card, paint and modelling clay, you will create a short animated film with animation software and miniature cameras.
  • Video Game Making 7+: Make your own 2D video game using Scratch 3 – the entry level game design software. Scratch is the perfect way to learn the basics of programming, and is used in schools throughout the country. Learn how to make simple 2D arcade games and then share them online via the scratch website.

Take one of our Trains into the woods to visit the Easter Bunny, receive a special treat and meet his other furry friends. Throughout the train ride, you can test your I spy skills and look out for various things along the route.

  • The King of Slime returnsWe’re beginning our Easter Holiday fun with four of our ultra popular Slime Workshops led by Mark, who has made slime with over 1,500 children in Essex to date! That man knows his Slime!

 

Discover Bushcraft Holiday Club

  • Go wild for Discover Bushcraft Holiday Club! Discover Bushcraft Holiday Club runs in the school holidays for 8 – 12 year old boys and girls. Base camp is in the Conservation Garden Thaxted – we set up a great base camp that includes tarp shelters, hammocks, our fire pit and a general ‘out in the woods’ camp feel. We do sometimes leave the base camp to explore the surrounding countryside and do some animal tracking!

 

Down Hall

  • Chocolate Afternoon Tea & Petting Zoo: Served in the elegant lounge or Ibbetson’s Tea Lounge, Down Hall’s chocolate-themed afternoon tea is a sweet treat not to be missed. Children are invited to pet the animals beforehand and will take home an Easter egg.
  • Easter Lunch & Petting Zoo: Tuck into a three-course lunch in The Grill Room on Easter Sunday or Monday. Flooded with natural daylight, The Grill Room is a stunning spot to enjoy seasonal British food featuring locally sourced ingredients and vegetables from the hotel’s kitchen garden.
