As we’re starting to get towards winter and the mornings are definitely chillier, I decided it was time for a new coat for Iris, and we had a look at the range of girls’ ski jackets on Simply Hike to find one. We’re not planning on any actual skiing, but those school run weather conditions can be pretty harsh, so there’s a definitely need for something robust and weather-proof. However, Iris also wanted something she liked the look of, and one that had a fluffy hood!
The range at Simply Hike is good – some nice colourful coats, and definitely able to double as both skiwear and everyday wear. She struggled to choose, as she loved the Molo Girl’s Peace Jacket and Dare2B Girl’s Relucent Jacket, but in the end she went for the Kolor Kids Kalata Parka Jacket in beet which was my first choice too. The process of ordering was straightforward and delivery took just a couple of days – all seamless!
At £70 it’s not cheap, but it feels great quality and is really stylish too – I’m actually quite jealous! It looks great on (better than the website photos show), is a lovely soft and light material, but according to Iris is really warm too. Also it has an excellent hood. She is impressed with many of the features – from bonus pockets to inner sleeves that help protect your arms from the cold. It also has some reflective details which is always a nice reassuring detail for parents.
She’s looking forward to trying it out in some rain (or even better, snow!) and we’ll update accordingly with how it performs!
