Steenbergs Fairtrade Organic Curry Powder is a versatile curry powder with all the flavour you would expect from Steenbergs. I created this Fairtrade Organic Curry Powder based on a curry powder that I had never launched (which I had called Yorkshire Curry Powder). It is a medium strength curry powder that is based around the classic coriander-cumin base that gives the curry powder an earthy, robust flavour. To this, I have packed the Fairtrade curry powder with Fairtrade spices, including the spicy warmth from black pepper and ginger, with the aromatic sweetness from Fairtrade cinnamon, Fairtrade cardamom and Fairtrade cloves, then underpinning it with some more earthiness and a yellow colour from Fairtrade turmeric. For greater depth of character, I have included organic fenugreek, together with some organic garlic and onion powder, so it can be enjoyed straight from the pack to add an authentic curry flavour that is good for the environment and Fair to Steenbergs’s spice suppliers.
