How to be “Buzzy” this summer:

Plantlife is asking children to ‘Bee Scene’ this summer by taking part in a new survey designed especially for them. Families with primary aged school children can make the most of the outside by visiting parks, fields or any other natural space to complete a simple and fun wildflower survey.

The Bee Scene survey is free, quick to do and provides and easy way for children along with their parents, grandparents or youth leaders to find out more about the wildflowers in their local area and consider whether that area is good for bees or not. By ‘planting’ the findings on the Wild about Plants website, they will appear on an online map, making up a ‘virtual’ meadow to show good wildflower sites across the country.

For those with younger families and wannabe intrepid explorers, the Wild about Plants team have produced a series of guides for families to take with them on expeditions. The guides and all Bee Scene resources are available to download free of charge from the Wild about Plants website. Please visit: www.wildaboutplants.org.uk and remember wherever you are this summer to go out and BEE SCENE!!
