Essex Mums June Newsletter

Good morning everyone,
I hope you enjoyed the bank holiday weekend and had lots of fun with your family (all found on the Essex Mums Things to Do section, of course!) as well as some quality relaxing time. Things here at Essex Mums have been as busy as ever!

Half-term
Those of you with school age children might be wondering what to do to keep them entertained this half-term. I’m pleased to inform you that there is so much going on your kids don’t need to be bored at all! Check out the home page for a run-down of a few things that are on, or take a look at your area’s calendar to see the complete listings. For every event you’ll find a link to the forum post with more details. if you know of an event that is missing, it’s not too late to send it over to me at this address.

Summer holidays
On the subject of events, please send me any summer holiday events you have now. It might be a little way off yet but I foresee there being a lot so would like to get started asap! If you would like to advertise an event on the site in the run up to summer, please get in touch. I’m happy to offer a discount for anyone receiving this newsletter.
Directory
I’m currently creating an Essex Mums directory on the site which will provide a useful list of shops, services and resources for Essex parents, featuring everything from baby clothes to builders and children’s centres to birthday cards. While it’s new I’m offering spots at a low rate, with the cheapest listing being only £5 for a year. Email me if you would like more information.

Shopping Guide
We’ve had more great stuff added to the Shopping Guide this month so make sure you take a look!

Competitions
We had some great competitions in May and a really high level of interest in them. I’ll be announcing the winners on the forum and Competitions page later today, so watch out for that. If you would like to run a competition for June/July, let me know.

Meeting Up
For those of you who are members of the Essex Mums facebook group (if you aren’t, why not?), you may have noticed we have a few new admins over there who have been busy creating events in various places across the county (or will be if they haven’t already!). I know a lot of people felt like the meet-ups that have happened were often very Southend-focussed and as Essex Mums is a site across the county, this seemed like a good way of getting meet-ups happening everywhere. Take a look at the ‘upcoming meets’ thread for where we’ll be meeting next, and if you don’t see one near you, why not start one, or ask me about becoming an admin for the group.

Member of the Week
If you’d like to get more involved in the forum but don’t know where to start, why not come and join in with the Member of the Week thread? It’s just a bit of fun and a nice way to get to know each other.

Ads
Due to my not realising we were at the end of the month already, I still have a couple of ad spots available for this month which I’m offering at half-price, so get in touch if you’re interested. I’m also offering big discounts on ad bookings for 6 month or annual periods.

Hope you all have a lovely month!
